Key Changes and Recent News

The Sóller Town Council has implemented a new mobility model to reduce traffic congestion and preserve the town’s unique character. These are the most important changes you need to know:

  • New Park-and-Ride Lots: Three new paid car parks have been opened on the Desvío bypass road. In total, there are now over 500 parking spaces available in this area, which serves as a main access route to the town.
  • Restricted Town Center Access (sitll not implemented): Vehicles belonging to non-residents are no longer allowed to enter the town center. This measure aims to divert traffic to the outskirts and encourage the use of the new park-and-ride facilities.
  • No Parking on Road Shoulders: Parking on the main road’s shoulders is now prohibited, a measure designed to improve traffic flow. The only place is close the Repsol Station
  • Vehicle Counters: To better manage traffic, car counters are being installed to provide authorities with real-time data on the density of vehicles entering the town.

Paid Parking (Blue Zone & Public Car Parks)

Paid parking is located in the most central areas, allowing you to be just a few minutes’ walk from Plaça de la Constitució, the heart of the town.

Blue Zone (ORA)
These are on-street parking spots marked with blue lines. They operate with a parking meter system and have a maximum parking time.

  • Location: You’ll find them on the main streets surrounding the center.
  • Operating Hours: Payment is required from 9:00 to 14:00 and from 16:00 to 21:00, Monday to Sunday.
  • How to Pay: Most parking meters accept coins, but you can also pay with mobile apps like Telpark or Easypark.

Public Car Parks
Sóller has several large car parks that offer hourly or daily rates. The three new lots on the Desvío road are now the recommended option.

  • New Desvío Car Parks: With over 500 spaces, these are the best alternative if you’re driving into town. From here, you can easily walk to the center in about 10-15 minutes.
  • Teixidores Car Park: Located near the square, it’s a very popular and central option. However, is almost impossible to park there.
  • Bus Car Park: Situated near the bus station, it’s another convenient alternative for leaving your car and exploring the town on foot.
