Port de Sóller and Sóller stand out as an exceptional destinations to fully immerse yourself in the beauty of the Mediterranean Sea during the summer. Its allure lies in its diverse offerings: inviting hidden beaches, a range of activities, captivating sunsets, and enchanting, less-explored coves.
This article highlights two such remarkable locations: Alcónasser and Es Canyaret. These spots promise a genuine connection with nature, tranquility, and an escape to a pure, unspoiled environment, creating lasting memories of your Mallorca visit.
Alcónasser: Discovering a Secluded Rocky Cove
Nestled within the Béns d’Avall urbanization, Alcónasser is a small, picturesque rocky cove located between Sóller and Deià. Reaching this idyllic spot offers two distinct options:
Access by Road (Car or Motorbike):
- Go onto the road connecting Sóller and Deià, proceeding uphill until you reach a sharp left-hand bend.
- At this bend, where the road transitions downhill, you’ll find a sign indicating the Béns d’Avall housing estate.
- Take this exit and descend to the end of the road, where you can park near the Es Béns d’Avall restaurant.
- From here, a short footpath leads to the stunning Alcónasser cove.

Upon arriving, take a moment to appreciate the cove from above before making your way down to the shoreline. Here, you’ll encounter traditional dry docks, architectural features steeped in the history of Mallorca’s north coast. These structures, once vital for storing boats, fishing gear, and other maritime equipment, add to the area’s authentic charm.
It’s important to note that Alcónasser is an unspoiled cove, primarily frequented by locals from Sóller and Deià, offering a less crowded experience. Therefore, it’s advisable to come prepared with all necessary supplies, including food, beverages, snorkeling gear, sun protection, and jellyfish sting relief. While the journey to Alcónasser may involve some navigational challenges, the reward of discovering this pristine cove and experiencing the true essence of the Mediterranean is well worth the effort.

Es Canyaret and Sa Foradada: Further Exploration of Mallorca’s North Coast
Es Canyaret is the cove associated with Llucalcari, a small village nestled at the base of the Tramuntana mountain range. Similar to Alcónasser, Es Canyaret is a stone cove, but it possesses distinct features that make it truly special.
Es Canyaret’s Unique Features:
- Natural springs provide mud, ideal for a skin-moisturizing treatment before a refreshing dip.
- A natural swimming pool, located to the right of the cove, offers a magical spot for relaxation and cooling off. This pool is situated next to a natural cave, providing a safe swimming environment.
Access to Es Canyaret:
Es Canyaret can also be reached by car. Follow the Sóller-Deià road and turn off at the sign for Llucalcari. Parking in Llucalcari can be challenging, so consider alternative transportation like a motorbike or the bus, which stops near the entrance to Llucalcari.
- Important Note: Es Canyaret is a nudist-friendly cove.
Concluding Your Mediterranean Journey
To culminate your Mediterranean experience on Mallorca’s north coast memorably, continue sailing towards Deià from Es Canyaret, passing Cala de Deià on the port side, until you reach Sa Foradada.

This majestic and iconic rock formation provides another idyllic setting for anchoring, swimming, and witnessing a stunning sunset from the sea. For those traveling by motorbike or car, Sa Foradada can also be enjoyed by continuing from Llucalcari towards Deià, passing through the village to reach the Mirador de sa Foradada. A small Mediterranean bar at the viewpoint offers a similar sunset viewing experience.
